Position Objectives: The main objective is to ensure the delivery of memorable guest experiences and operate a profitable spa. Other objectives include:
Operation - Oversee all functions of the spa’s daily operations
Leadership - Lead/manage the spa team according to business standards
Teambuilding - Recruit, train and retain a professional spa team
Performance - To achieve monthly performance targets for self and spa team
Marketing – To market the spa’s services and products
Position Activities and Responsibilities:
All to be performed according to the spa’s training manuals and videos. Spa Manager is responsible to know all spa’s manuals.
Spa Team
- Recruit, interview, hire, train, reward, and manage/lead team members using CLARITI hiring system and ICARE coaching models
- Ensure that team members are current with insurance and licensing requirements
- Be a role model for the spa team
- Communicate the vision and mission
- Actively plan host and conduct team meetings
- Implement, practice, and enforce all policies and procedures according to spa manuals
- Ensure the team is following guest protocols and delivering the ultimate spa experience
- Resolve team member conflicts or grievances; act as liaison between team and spa director
- Resolve guest issues
- Monitor and evaluate team targets and goals
- Conduct team performance evaluations and monthly one on one meetings
- Determine and publish team schedules
- Enforce and monitor team image – uniforms, makeup, hair, shoes
- Award and recognize the team
Spa
- Delegate cleaning and organizing responsibilities and ensure they are followed through by conducting area/room audits
- Monitor cleanliness of spa/salon and ensure all sanitation/sterilization tools are used and available, assist with all board inspections
- Maintain an inviting and guest friendly retail spa boutique
- Maintains beverage station and ensures adequate stock of needed supplies
- Assists with laundry and spa cleaning when necessary
- Ensure signature spa scent is present at all times
- Verify all spa linen are appropriately cared for
- Monitor physical spa environment/working conditions: Spa, Spa office, Equipment/machinery used: Music system, phone, computer, copy machine, inventory tracking equipment, credit card machines etc.
Inventory Management
- Spa Manager is responsible to use purchase order and receiving system when placing orders
- Monitor proper professional product usage
- Assure proper retail mix
- Track retail inventory – performance sellers & non-sellers
- Monitor professional product usage
Spa Financials
- Review overall spa and team performance reports
- Track budget vs. actual
- Track Volume per Guest for service and retail
- Calculate payroll
- Track business performance. Service and retail
- Identify and correct issues that may prevent increased sales – troubleshoot
- Avoid overspending, stick to the budget
- Discover untapped revenue generators
- Communicate financial goals to the team
- Monitor daily performance
Operation
- Orientation manual

Education
- Schedule and conduct continuous training sessions
- Schedule and actively host team meetings
- Educate team on the spa treatments and products and how to promote them
- Plan and schedule supplier training sessions
- Train the team on business strategies to increase revenue for both service upgrades and retail sales
Relations
- Communicate and build relations with all departments
- Conduct monthly and/or weekly staff meetings.
- Monitor guest relations and retention
- Establish business to business relations and strategies
- Meet and report efforts to spa director or owner
Marketing
- Work with the spa owner to create and implement marketing strategies
- Build media relations, be the spa’s spokesperson
- Assist the owner with the coordination of special events to promote the spa such as: trade shows, bridal expos, career nights, employee parties, etc.
- Create promotions and upgrade opportunities to increase revenue
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in building, developing, leading, and managing a spa/salon team (2 years minimum)
- Computer skills and aptitude for mastering spa software
- Proficient with Excel and Word
- Good writing and communication skills
- Flexible schedule, weekends mandatory, and ability to work 40 hours + per week
- Lives and is passionate about the spa lifestyle
- Must be confident with making face to face pitches in a convincing and conversational manner
- Strong organizational skill
- Experienced with guest service (hospitality and retail highly desired)

Compensation: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
